The heat and drought have tested crops, soils and farming systems.Some fields have performed better than expected. Others have disappointed despite looking promising earlier in the season.Before simply cutting inputs, it is worth understanding what held up, what failed and why. I help farmers find crop and soil problems, question assumptions and identify practical next steps.
Start with a conversation
I am offering a free, informal 20–30 minute conversation for farmers who want to talk through something that does not quite add up.
That might be disappointing yields, drought or heat stress, one field performing very differently from another, recurring poor areas, a trial that has produced more questions than answers, or the challenge of reducing inputs without increasing risk.
There is no hard sell and no need to have all the information to hand. The aim is simply to listen, understand what you are seeing and decide whether there is something useful to investigate further.
